Anne Simpson Pardington Endowment

A commitment to helping women have a second chance in life motivated Anne Simpson Pardington to help start the Displaced Homemaker Pre-Employment Training Program in 1983 on the campus of Clackamas Community College. Two years later, the program was formally incorporated into the college and inspired similar programs at many other community colleges throughout the State. Anne taught in the program for over 20 years until she retired in 2004.

Now called The Life and Career Options Program (LCOP) with college-level classes, personal advising, and other essential services to current and past students, the Clackamas program is a lifeline for a diverse group of students.

Anne’s dedication and sincere commitment to helping people through difficult life transitions also led her to start an endowment that provides assistance for people who complete the LCOP program and take coursework at Clackamas Community College.

Impact

Four years ago I came to the USA from Russia and ever since I have tried to find the best way to apply my medical knowledge. My general goal is to enroll in a Health Care program to apply my previous experience and all my knowledge in practice as soon as possible. This scholarship will be of enormous assistance in the completion of my medical education. ~ Elena
