Arthur D. Cooper, MD Honorary Endowment

Dr. Arthur “Art” Cooper, an Oregon City obstetrician and gynecologist who delivered more than 3000 babies, retired in 2012 after being in private practice since 1982.

He was one of the founders of what would become Women’s Health Center of Oregon in 1987. The center specialized in gynecology, obstetrics and infertility.

Dr. Cooper graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in pharmacy in 1970. After working four years as a pharmacist, he entered medical school at Oregon Health & Science University and graduated in 1978.

“I have always believed in continuing education and helping people advance their careers. This endowment will provide scholarships for students pursuing an education in Medical Assisting, Nursing or other fields that are health related. Preference will be given to employees of the Women’s Healthcare Associates, Oregon City office,” Dr. Cooper said.

Scholarships
