Clyde Sajovic Endowment
Clyde Sajovic was a man of many interests. Born in Oregon City in 1947, he grew up loving baseball, Boy Scouts and playing the trumpet. A 1965 graduate of Oregon City High School, Clyde went on to Multnomah Junior College and Pacific University. He loved birds, scuba diving, astronomy, motorcycles, walking the trails at Clackamas Community College and Tryon Creek Park, and a fine meal.
Clyde was proud to be the most senior hourly employee at Blue Heron Paper Company. An advocate for physical fitness, he was instrumental in setting up the employees’ gym at the mill. Clyde’s death in 2003 occurred while doing what he loved most – walking and hiking in his hometown.
The Clyde Sajovic Endowed Scholarship, established by friends and family, will support science students at Clackamas Community College. It is a tribute to Clyde’s love of learning and the outdoors.
Impact
Those who overcome strife are often the people who impact our communities the most and that is why I want to become a Speech Pathologist. You are helping me to be able to make a difference in our community! ~ Rebecca
