David Bagby Memorial Endowment

David Bagby Memorial Endowment

This endowment was established by Nancy Hungerford and her daughter Andrea to perpetuate the memory of Andrea’s dear friend, David William Bagby. David was born December 4, 1965, and died in an accident October 4, 1987. He aspired to become a high school math teacher and basketball coach. He graduated from Rex Putnam High School and attended Clackamas Community College and Portland State University. In high school he was noted not only for being a varsity basketball player on a league-winning team, but also for forming the “Bagby Bunch” of tongue-in-cheek fans who showed up at games with paper bags over their heads, chanting, “Bagby, Bagby.” David’s good humor, quick wit and intellect made him an inspiration to students and adults. His unfortunate early death prevented his making a mark in his chosen career.

Impact

With this Scholarship, I will be able to start my education with Clackamas Community College. It will help me pay to go to school and get my tuition paid and my books I will need to get all of my prerequisites done. ~ Heather
