James A. Streeter Memorial Endowment

James A. Streeter Memorial Endowment

The James A. Streeter Memorial Scholarship was established in 1989 to honor the memory of CCC math teacher and department chair Jim Streeter. More than 5,000 students passed through Jim’s classes from 1967 until his death in 1989. Besides being a dedicated teacher and co-author of several math textbooks, Jim was founder of the Oregon Mathematics Association for Two-Year Colleges. His commitment to excellence and student success was also memorialized in the naming of Streeter Hall, CCC’s math and computer science center, which was dedicated in 1992. The Streeter Memorial Scholarship was established through the generosity of Jim’s widow Sharon, his mother Paula, and his friends and colleagues at Clackamas Community College.
