Jim "Rusty" Painter Endowment

Jim “Rusty” Painter came to Clackamas Community College to teach in 1969. Rusty had received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration from Southern Oregon State College, spent four years working for U.S. Bank and was now ready to share his knowledge. Less than four years later, though, the fledgling college needed a centralized personnel office, and it turned inward to find the talent to lead it, coaxing Rusty out of the classroom. Through a quarter century as CCC’s Human Relations Director, Rusty led the school’s personnel policies but never lost affection for his first profession. Creating an endowed scholarship upon his retirement was Rusty’s way of returning to the classroom. Without placing limits on his scholarship, Rusty declared his hope that it might help more women and minorities excel in business and accounting.

The Jim “Rusty” Painter Endowment will provide a scholarship to outstanding CCC students in Business Administration and Accounting.

Impact

With the generosity of your Jim “Rusty” Painter Business Scholarship, coupled with the support of my family, I now will be able to complete the remaining seven classes needed and obtain my degree this year. I wish I could put into words the immense pride I will have the day I receive my diploma. Thank you so much for making my dream possible. ~ Carol
