Jo Crenshaw
Owner / operator of several local McDonald’s Restaurants. Jo was the first African-American to serve as the president of the local Rotary Club and holds the same distinction with the CCC Foundation Board. She was the thirteenth of 16 children growing up in aTennessee farm family. Everybody had to help, but Jo’s mother made sure that chores never got in the way of school. All but one of Jo’s brothers and sisters graduated from high school and went on the college. Jo attended a community college and completed her four-year degree while working full time.
Impact
Jo supports the education of more than 200 employees by assisting with college fees and rewarding good grades with cash. The Student Lounge in Rook Hall is named The Hardaway Student Lounge in honor of her family and the emphasis her parents placed on education.
