Michael DeShane / Keren Brown Wilson

Michael and Keren understand the challenge of pursuing a higher education with little support from family and a relative lack of scholarship opportunities. Their commitment to Clackamas Community College stems from their own difficulties financing their educations.

Michael’s post secondary education began at a community college, and the experience provided the motivation and the capability to pursue more advanced studies. Keren not only paid for her own college education, but helped support her mother while doing so. Community colleges are a democratizing force that opens an advanced education to those who may not otherwise be able to continue their education.

Michael and Keren are honored and humbled that they have the ability to help assure higher education for those who have the ability and desire, but may lack the financial capability to pursue their educational goals. Funds from this endowment will provide scholarship assistance to students planning to transfer to Portland State University after completion at CCC.
