Milo Cameron Memorial Endowment
Milo Cameron (1907-1995) dedicated his life to education. His commitment led him from teaching in a one-room school to serving as principal of Oregon City’s Thora B. Gardiner Junior High School, where he retired in 1972. He taught in classrooms and in churches, on basketball courts, football fields, by trout streams and at bedsides. Most importantly, Milo taught by example. He always wen t the extra mile with a willing heart and a smile. His positive outlook and faith in people made him a model for all who knew him.
Milo was an active Rotarian who consistently teased club members about the success of his alma mater’s ( the University of Nebraska) football team. He served as club president and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow.
The Milo Cameron Memorial Endowment was established by the Oregon City-West Linn Rotary and Milo’s family and friends. It will provide a perpetual Opportunity Scholarship for an Oregon City High School graduate.
