Ross R. Smith Memorial Endowment

Ross Smith was known to be soft-spoken, but when he did speak, people listened.

Ross was elected to the Clackamas Community College Board of Education in 1985 and served until 2008. He had the distinction of being the third longest-serving board member at CCC. Ross always did his homework and let his views be known. He constantly maintained a strong commitment to the college’s role of helping people better themselves.

Born in Oregon City, Ross and his wife of forty-five years, Judy, lived in Beavercreek. Their two sons both attended CCC. In his professional life, Ross was a Data System Supervisor for Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development for thirty years. Funds from the Ross R. Smith Memorial Endowment will provide scholarships for pre-engineering students.
