Terence and Lonnie Shumaker

Terence and Lonnie Shumaker know what it’s like to go through a major life change. They moved to Oregon in 1973 seeking new careers. After returning to college, they achieved their goals. Terence was hired as a drafting instructor at Clackamas Community College in 1977 and became Drafting Department chair in 2000. Over the years, he has made many improvements to the college’s drafting program. His wife Lonnie has worked as a crisis counselor for adolescents and young adults for more than 25 years.

The Shumakers know it takes courage to get through a crisis or major life change, and a helping hand can make a difference. The Shumaker Endowment was created to provide assistance to a Life and Career Options (LCOP) student.
