Marc Essig Endowed Scholarship
Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students who are taking Automotive courses. Marc Essig taught a variety of technical/professional classes at Clackamas Community College for 28 years, but his true love was always automobiles. He was the first full-time instructor in Barlow Hall when he was hired to reach auto body and welding in 1970. He was the automotive department chair for 23 years. What motivated Marc most for nearly three decades was this simple message: the transportation technology industry can provide students with a lifelong career rewarding both monetarily and intrinsically. Still active in the trade, Marc continued sending that message with the establishment for this scholarship.
